Background
The Freedom State is an Australian-based bohemian clothing online shop. They have a showroom at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast but sell gypsy clothing and boho fashion all around Australia and as far away as the USA and Europe. Mandy from The Freedom State came to the team at Knight Media looking for a solution to constant problems and bugs with their existing shopping cart system. The issues were a regular hassle and were making the every-day running of the site much more complicated and time-consuming than it ought to be. After reviewing the website’s problematic system and design, we began working on developing a plan to resolve The Freedom State of those issues and give the owners more time to run the business instead of constantly correcting shopping cart errors.
We designed a theme that would better portray The Freedom State’s line of bohemian clothes. The new theme really highlighted the lines of gypsy and boho fashion allowing The Freedom State to showcase particular lines of their boho dresses, kimonos, pants, tops, bags and accessories whenever necessary. All of the data from the old site was migrated over to the new one, and the outdated and problematic shopping cart was switched over to a Woocommerce system which made things much simpler and easier to work with.
Since launching the new site in late 2013, The Freedom State has boomed with traffic and sales more than doubling in only just over 6 months! The boho community has really taken a liking to the new website design and the team at the bohemian clothing store have only heard positive feedback about the elegant new website theme and it’s ease of use. The growth in sales and traffic can also be attributed somewhat to the new look of the brand and the much better Google ranking that were made possible by the new WordPress systems.
